Laguna de Bay, which is located at the southeast of Manila Bay, is known to be the largest freshwater lake of Philippines. Several rivers are harnessed for hydroelectric power generation.


History of Philippines

The country of Philippines had commercial relations with Japan and china. It also had strong literary ties with India through its current neighbours; Indonesia and Malaysia for three hundred years during 9th century.The country of Philippines was ruled by the people of New Spain from 1565 to 1821. However, after Mexican independence it commenced to be administered directly from Madrid. During that point of time uncountable towns were discovered, new livestock and crops were introduced, trade flourished and infrastructures were built.

The Party line Movement included the nationalists of Philippine José Rizal after which a candidate pursuing education in Spain soon extended the Spanish mainland. The war between America and Spain commenced in Cuba during the year of 1898. It soon reached the Philippines when the Spanish squadron at Manila Bay was defeated by the Commodore George Dewey. The democracy of Philippines was declared on 12th of June 1898 after which it was known to be the head of state. As a result of its conquest, Spain was officially forced to cede the Philippines, mutually with Cuba, Guam and Puerto Rico to the U.S. during 1899 the First Philippine Republic was proclaimed in Bulacan and Malolos but was later on suspended by the US forces that lead to the battle between Philippine and American.

The battle continued the hostility of the previous years. The war was ended when Aguinaldo was imprisoned by American troops on 23rd of March 1901. However, the struggle continued until the year of 1913 which took the lives of more than one million Filipinos. Plans for enhancing democracy over the next ten years were disrupted during World War II when Japan defeated and occupied several islands. The country of Philippines was granted independence from the United States on 4th of July, 1946.


Climate and weather

The country of Philippines has a sultry marine climate which is dominated by a dry and rainy season. The summer torrential rain brings about heavy rains to most parts of the archipelago from the months of May to October. The winter torrential rain brings drier and cooler from the months of December to February. Various lowland areas including Manila remain dusty and from the months of March to May. The temperature remains moderate during March to May but it can rise above 37° C in a rare case. Mean annual sea-level temperatures rarely falls below 27° C. The annual rainfall measures around 5,000 millimetres in the hilly east coast subdivision of the country, but lower than 1,000 millimetres in some of the shielded valleys.

The costs mentioned above are only estimated expenses while the actual costs of living in Philippines would depend on several factors like standard of living maintained and where the student is staying.


Students who study in Philippines can also shift directly to USA to complete the final year of their course program. Students may also directly apply to their choice of educational institutions. Students applying for bachelor education usually have to submit proof that they have completed their entire secondary education from the concerned university. For securing admission for a Masters program, the incumbent application should have completed his/her Bachelor degree. It is only after completing the bachelor degree that he/she can apply in any school offering Masters Program.
